We pride ourselves on our innovation and creativity for continuous improvement.

We are dedicated to providing quality and consistent products to our guests through a method of doing business right and minimizing our environmental footprint.  The initiatives outlined in these pages are all a great start, but there is so much more that we can do!  Measuring our current impact only makes us want to do more.  We realize some of the initiatives outlined below are on varying levels in terms of ease of completion.  Although we may not meet each one in 2011, we hope to get the ball rolling and see how far we can get!

Our 2011 goals & initiatives:

1. Corporate Consciousness Report - Develop a 2011 Corporate Consciousness Report where we record and disclose our successes and shortcomings in the area of corporate responsibility & sustainability.

2. Guest Experience:

  • Guest Welcome Binder - We want to print our guest welcome binder double sided to reduce the amount of paper usage by 50%
  • Electronic Leases- We want to provide the option for guests to securely sign their leases electronically to reduce the amount of paper printed.

3. Apartment & Resident Initiatives

  • Green Housekeeping Program – We are currently using non-toxic and eco-friendly products during housekeeping visits.  We want to expand our green housekeeping program to launder items only when specified by the guest.  We will work to create a procedure for housekeepers to identify which items the guest wishes to launder.
  • Apartment & Office Supplies- We will continue to evaluate the products we use and as we reorder, consider an eco-friendly option
  • Apartment Equipment- We will purchase and install Energy Star Appliances & Digital Thermostats as possible in units
  • Resident Reuse Program- We are currently donating partially used amenities to local shelters.  In 2011, we wish to extend this program to residents.
  • Overages: Educate guests on energy overages & investigate ways to save energy through furthering providing tent cards, literature and emails on simple tips.

Operations:

  • Scheduling: Improve scheduling day to day operations to most efficiently use fuel, energy and time of the team during housekeeping, set ups and break downs.
  • Warehouse: Investigate heating and insulation options

Employees Practices:

  • Offices: Continue to evaluate ways to incorporate a green lifestyle in the offices through composting and other initiatives.
  • Community Service: Offer employees the option to participate in a gardening project at a local school.
  • Employee Wellness: Expand Employee Wellness Program to include incentives & office competitions.

Other:

  • Technology: Use Salesforce to educate guests, vendors, and clients on energy saving tips through routine emails
  • Alternate Energy: Investigate ways to support & invest in alternate energy.
  • Social Media: Properly utilize social media to spread the message of sustainability.
