We strive to make our warehouse and product transport chain as efficient and sustainable as possible. While we have many places for improvement, we are happy to share the following initiatives:
- In 2009 we purchased two Toyota Pruis’ in an effort to reduce our footprint.
- We consciously choose vendors that are local to minimize the shipping distance & support other small businesses in our community.
- We have two warehouse spaces: One in Stamford, CT and the other in Quincy, MA. By using two warehouses, we are able to keep our inventory central to our core territory.
- Our “Re-Use Initiative” gives us a creative solution to our occasional inventory surplus, where gently used housewares and linens are donated to local homeless shelters.
- We use non-toxic and environmentally friendly cleaning products in our warehouses.
- Organization in our warehouse is kept with the use of reusable bins instead of cardboard boxes. Although these bins are made of plastic, they are durable and have a long life for use.
